A major focal point of the vessel's interior, the staircase now cascades down from the public areas on Deck 5 toward the magnificent, marble-floored promenade on Deck 4. This promenade leads directly into Seven Seas Splendor's main restaurant, Compass Rose. For the most part, the footprints of all three ships in this series are the same, but eagle-eyed cruisers will notice that Regent made a few tweaks to the design as the series developed. Still, it's in the bigger cabin complexes at the front and back of the Explorer Class ships where things get really impressive.
Regent Cruises Dining
With guests numbering in the hundreds instead of the thousands, you won't have to wait in any long lines or get lost in the crowd aboard a Regent cruise. The pinnacle of sailing options is the 4,443-square-foot Regent Suite at $11,000 a night. It features a $200,000 Hästens Vividus custom handmade mattress, an in-suite spa retreat with a personal sauna and steam room and 270-degree views from the ship’s bow from a 1,292-square-foot wraparound veranda. At the highest end is the over-the-top Regent Suite, which has been the talk of the industry since the first one debuted on Seven Seas Explorer. The room, which starts at $11,000 per night, is 3,026 square feet and offers a 1,417 square-foot balcony, and it includes an ensuite spa (for treatments in-cabin), Steinway baby grand piano and a mattress that retails for $200,000.

Regent is one of the oldest of about half a dozen major cruise lines that compete in the market for "ultra-luxury" cruises — voyages that promise a high level of elegance and pampering and have a high price tag to match. Strengthening communities the line visits is another focus, with a range of sustainable, socially and environmentally responsible shore tours available for guests. Whether you stay overnight or are in port for the day, your toughest decision will probably be choosing which of the complimentary (and unlimited) shore excursions you would like to do first. Highlights of the overnight stay programme include destinations such as Bangkok, Monte Carlo and Istanbul.

Dubbed the Culinary Arts Kitchen, each of these venues has 18 individual cooking stations tricked out with top-of-the-line induction cooktops, stainless steel sinks and all sorts of cool cooking equipment. Like all such brands, Regent operates ships that are far smaller and more intimate than the giant floating megaresorts operated by Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line and Carnival Cruise Line. Instead of thousands of passengers, each Regent vessel is designed to hold just a few hundred people. Built over the past decade, the Explorer Class ships are the line's newest, biggest and most elegant vessels. The Small Cruise Ship Class ships are much older vessels and, as the class name suggests, the smallest ships in the Regent fleet.

Subsequently, the ship is expected to head to the Caribbean and South America for the winter season. On February 11, 2019, RSSC announced its partnership with Vero Water (eco-friendly bottled water supplier) to eliminate all single-use plastic bottles fleetwide. In the period April-June 2019, all Regent cruise liners were outfitted with Vero Water (onboard purification) systems eliminating ~2 million plastic bottles annually.
On sailings of 16 nights or more, guests will enjoy two more formal or semi-formal evenings, where men wear tuxedos, dinner jackets or dark suits (with tie), and women will wear gowns or cocktail dresses. Though participation is option, many dress to the nines and enjoy the opportunity to dress up – and see others in formal attire as well. The ship offers a number of restaurants onboard – all included – though we found dishes to be hit and miss in terms of quality and innovation. Explorer Class vessels also offer a wide array of elegant and high-end restaurants, all included in the fare. They include Compass Rose, the international cuisine staple of all Regent ships; Regent's signature steakhouse Prime 7; casual restaurant La Veranda; Asian eatery Pacific Rim; and French restaurant Chartreuse.

Regent brings on experts in a range of fields to educate guests on everything from wine pairings to ancient history to current events, and even offers hands-on cooking classes with Le Cordon Bleu-trained chefs. Regent takes dining seriously onboard, and knows you want to be flexible with your schedule. As such, you can eat whenever you want, with whomever you want at various open-seating restaurants, including the flagship Compass Rose.
Ship refurbishments
The 2025 season for the latest addition to the fleet, Seven Seas Grandeur, commences with sailings in the Mediterranean. Grandeur then embarks on a northern Europe season, followed by a return to the Mediterranean in autumn. Finally, she concludes the year with a transatlantic voyage from Barcelona to PortMiami, exploring the Caribbean during the winter. The five sailings include the Grand Arctic Adventure, which is an 83-night voyage from New York to Barcelona on Seven Seas Mariner. The Grand Cultural Quest is a 117-night journey from New York to Barcelona on Seven Seas Mariner, with stops in Northern Europe and the Mediterranean. The Grand Continental Sojourn is an 84-night voyage from Barcelona to Sydney on Seven Seas Navigator, with stops in Africa, Asia, and Australia.
RSSC/Regent launches the world's most expensive cruise in 2027 (Seven Seas Splendor ship)
The list of numerous onboard renovations included refurbishing of most public spaces, a complete redesign of all staterooms, ship technology, and equipment upgrades. After the fleet renovation program was completed, RSSC started offering free unlimited Internet and Wi-Fi to all cruise passengers (regardless of cabin categories). With nine dining experiences onboard, including four specialty restaurants, choice for food on Seven Seas Grandeur is plentiful. While Regent Seven Seas announced in 2023 it was adding some 130 dishes to menus across its fleet, we didn’t feel the impact on our short preview sailing of Seven Seas Grandeur. We’ve sailed several times with the line, and on Seven Seas Grandeur, the food was solidly prepared but felt a little too familiar, in that we’ve had several of the dishes we tried before on other ships. Among standout features, all Explorer Class vessels have an elaborate cooking classroom, which doesn't exist on older Regent ships.
Even the smallest of the accommodations measures 307 square feet, which is not too shabby for a cruise ship. Regent Seven Seas Cruises is the world's only cruise line that includes unlimited shore excursions in every port. This doesn't just make this luxury line good value for money, it also means Regent is ideal for genuine travellers who are citizens of the world and seek to engage more deeply with the destinations they visit, rather than simply ticking sights and attractions off a list. In addition to these all-inclusive features, the ships themselves offer a luxurious environment in which to unwind and enjoy some R&R. Regent's ships have a superb staff-to-guest ratio of nearly 1 to 1.5, and each ship has no more than 375 suites.
For example, the line's latest 'Upgrade Your Horizon' promotion includes up to a double category suite upgrade and 7.5% reduced deposits on hundreds of cruises. Plus, you can save up to 50 per cent on more than 80 destination-immersive sailings around the globe. If you can bring yourself to get off your beautiful ship, you'll be spoiled for choice with an impressive array of immersive tours and experiences. With port calls in more than 550 destinations, many of them with late departures or extended overnight stays, it’s no surprise Regent Seven Seas Cruises won Best for Destinations in the Luxury Category of the Cruise Critic UK Editors' Picks Awards 2023.
The Regent brand serves a clientele of predominantly affluent, middle-aged and older travelers, who expect a quiet and relaxing atmosphere and sophistication on board. RSSC's all-inclusive vacation packages offer care-free world cruising in an ambiance of luxury, quality, and value. It’s not to say the quality is lacking but simply that we didn’t see the innovation we’d hoped for come to life. In a competitive luxury cruise market, where others are showing inspired approaches to cuisine, Seven Seas Grandeur felt a little flat. The spa and fitness center are located aft – at the back of the ship – on decks 5 and 6, while the ships surprisingly large Constellation Theater is located forward on decks 4 and 5.
But that number is scheduled to rise to three in December with the arrival of Regent's new Seven Seas Grandeur. Lowest pricing is based on our 3rd party pricing supplier and valid as of April 22nd, 2024. In the evenings, the casino is a popular spot to hang out, as is the show lounge, where you can watch music, dance, and theater performances from Regent's team of professionals. Each ship has several lounges and bars to grab a drink from, as well as the Connoisseur Club for those who enjoy a fine cigar.
Regent Seven Seas Cruises (RSSC), formerly known as Radisson Seven Seas Cruises, is a luxury cruise line headquartered in Miami, Florida. Spotlight Voyages take this concept one step further with a range of programming tailored to special interests like war history, winemaking or tracing your ancestors as you explore the lands where they once walked. A voyage on this ship, or any of the others in the Regent Seven Seas Cruises' fleet, is sure to be an experience that's worth writing home about.
This restaurant features European-inspired dishes, as well as vegetarian, kosher, and health-conscious options. La Veranda is a buffet-style open-seating option, serving a mix of regional specialties and classic dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Specialty dining is available by reservation at Prime 7 steakhouse, Pacific Rim (Pan-Asian cuisine), and the chic Parisian restaurant Chartreuse. All three ships in the Explorer class are about 55,500 gross tons, with Grandeur sporting a 744-guest capacity among its all-suite offerings. The line has three older ships and just had two larger vessels ordered by parent company Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, but they are not due until 2026 and 2029. Seven Seas Splendor offers Mediterranean cruises before departing from Barcelona in August to reach Montréal, featuring Canada and New England itineraries.
